Piper Battery Box Fires are preventable

The battery box fire above was cause by a short at the positive carry through stud. The insulator failed and the battery shorted out through the box causing a melt down and fire. This is preventable with the 08M-BBM Battery Box Mod for Bogert Aviation. The Battery Box Mod replaces the carry through stud, paper insulator and soldered connections making for a clean, save and electrically efficient system. The mod is available for most metal Piper battery Boxes and is the same system that is used in Bogert Aviation New Battery Boxes.
